Last Saturday I attended a painting workshop at Woodbury Village Hall
this is the hall near Exmouth - thanks to Google street view for the pic
the Workshop was run by
the set up in this hall was really good as there were plenty of tables and space to work -
plus there was a large screen of the projected work for us to see the process of the painting
we were working on
(I took this next photo during a refreshment break)
and as you see the subject was an Autumn Woodland scene
The day ran from 10 til 4 with breaks for refreshments -
a great atmosphere and quite a few laughs along the way...
the instructions were easy to follow and although there was a mix of beginners
and those who knew a little more about watercolour techniques -
nobody felt rushed in any way, it was one step at a time and Matthew gave really good
explanations as to why certain areas were painted in first and others left til later.
...here you see the colours used
a simple palette, but very effective.
and here's my completed watercolour
